Question Re Certified Passport Copies
« on: December 02, 2004, 02:28:28 PM »
Hey guys, I just have a quick question. When I go to the consulate in NYC, my partner will not be with me, but will be providing a certified copy of his passport and UK permanent resident card. My question is what part of the passport should be copied?  Every page or just the information page with the picture? Thanks

Every page needs to be copied and certified.

When I got mine in October, we just sent in the first page with photo and information and didn't have a problem. We used the NY Consulate.

Yeah, that probably depends on who ends up dealing with your situation.  I'd call the consulate you're going to to be safe...

Thanks guys. I'll just have him copy the whole thing to be safe side and bring it with me. I'll only provide the additional pages if they ask.

Good idea.  It's probably better to play it safe with a partnership visa, anyway.   ;)

It's odd that we should have such different experiences. As I said earlier, I applied for my  FLR in Oct via mail (to NY) but using one of those services that walk it through for you. We only had the front page (with the photo) of my husband's passport & it was certified. Got my Visa & had it back the next day.
