Imazing - anyone used it?
« on: February 15, 2018, 03:39:51 PM »
Hey folks,

We are gathering together our facetime logs and message logs. We have found this useful program called Imazing, it takes the logs of your calls from your background data in your Ipod/phone/pad. We just snap all the relative info and copy it to a word document to then print out.

Anyone else used this?

I used a Chrome addin for old messages, but only because Facebook Messenger search options only goes back to the start of 2016 (Before May 2017 you could search all history). You have to scroll back otherwise, and that's super tedious. So the addin allowed me to show chats from 2013-2015.

I would include actual FB screenshots as well for recent communications, as a non-FB app/addin could be fabricated, if you were clever enough. The staff in Sheffield may be more familiar with the FB interface rather than a third-party app.

It captures all the facetime and imessage logs in an apple format, so it still obviously looks like messages on an iPhone.

The facetime logs are so detailed too.

I have a feeling I may have seen others use Imazing before. We will see, it has made relationship evidence gathering a lot easier.

I would not recommend sending anything at all from Facebook as it’s not considered a very reliable source of evidence.

If it’s all you have, then you can send it, but it should be a last resort and all other communication types should have priority (phone bills, emails, Skype, WhatsApp, iMessage, FaceTime etc.)

You do not need detailed logs though. No message content should be included, just a list of dates, times and names. So you need to crop out everything except the date/time and name of recipient/sender.

You should be able to get several years’ worth of messages onto 2 sheets of paper (I.e. 1 per month in a list).

We actually managed to get 4 calls a month of our facetimes - logs with time and date and contact etc...

Also a message a week on Imessage.

Then letters and emails - emails aren't as frequent but just show another means of communication.

We though this frequency should be ok.

How long a period are you covering?

You’ll want to adjust how many you send depending on how long you have been together.

For example, if you’re only covering 6 months, you might want to send 2 messages per week (48 in total). If it’s 2 years, maybe 2 per month (48 in total). If it’s 4 years, maybe 1 per month (48 in total)... etc.

We are covering nearly 2 years.

In that case I’d go for 2 per month at most from each communication type :).

So are you recommending 2 sheets of paper for each communication type?

Also would it be worth sending through pictures of us at different events throughout each year we have known each other, or even photos showing her at birthdays and holding niece/nephew as they grow up type thing?

I may struggle with emails also as there has been minimal correspondence through that, especially in this day and age when there are so many other forms of communication! Most of ours is unforutnately through fb messenger.

Yes.

For example:
- 1-2 pages of emails
- 1-2 pages of FaceTime calls
- 1-2 pages of iMessages

Nope, not at all.

You should only send:
- 1 or 2 photos maximum of only you and your spouse/partner (no one else in the picture), showing you have met each other in person.

That’s fine - as long as you have something else as well, just send what you have.

As I said, we don’t recommend sending FB messages, but if you don’t have anything else, then it’s okay to send. You just want to try to give other communication types priority :).
