Did they just change the rules on birth control?I
« on: October 06, 2017, 09:49:32 PM »
My other half asked me to check out the process for getting sorted with a GP and birth control when she gets here.  I found this little gem on the NHS website:

"However, from 21 August 2017, any new course of treatment for NHS-funded assisted conception services will not be free to surcharge payers (or people exempt from paying it), unless another exemption applies."

Did the NHS just take birth control out of what the NHS surcharge covers, or am I misreading it?

Taken from about halfway down this page:
http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/AboutNHSservices/uk-visitors/moving-to-england/Pages/moving-from-outside-the-eea.aspx
Online application: 29 June
Biometrics: 5 July
Package sent to UKVI: 5 July
Package arrived: 7 July
UKVI opened and confirmed receipt: 11 July
Decision email from UKVI: 2 October (59 BDs)
Passport returned 4 October - Approved!
Flight to UK: 14 October
Happiness: 15 October

Assisted conception is the opposite of contraception.  :)

Birth control is still free to all on the NHS :).

On the other side of the pond, however:

I could add some more but I fear I’m going to pop a blood vessel .

Here’s a picture of Trump throwing paper towels to the hurricane victims in Puerto Rico

How about one of Trump dedicating a golf trophy to the people of Puerto Rico?
