In-Person Appointment for FLR(m) - accomidation question
« on: November 26, 2017, 09:26:28 PM »
Hi All

Ok so we live with our son and he is providing us with a letter confirming that we have lived with him since our arrival back in April 2015. He is also giving us a mortgage statement dated 24/11/17.  We still have the Land Registry documents from 2015 will they still be valid.  Here in Scotland its not as easy to get these documents and I am hoping the ones we got for entry clearance will be ok? Thoughts!!

Yes, you’ll be fine.

Land Registry documents never expire because they don’t change over time... the copy you have from 2015 will be exactly the same as a copy you get in 2017.

It’s like a marriage certificate - you don’t get a new, updated one every year.... you just get the one on your wedding day, which remains valid for the entire length of your marriage. The Land Registry document is issued when you buy the house and then remains valid until you sell it to someone else (when a new one is issued in the new buyer’s name).

It's fine to put this in the letter but it should also say that you will continue to have his permission to live there after your FLR(M) is granted.

Thank you for replying so quickly.  I was hoping that you would confirm that the original Land Registry documents would still be ok... panic over

Our son has said in the letter that we are welcome to live in his home until our house is ready, no matter how long that takes.

I think we are more stressed this time than last time...
