Well......just got the BRP request, 2 1/2 weeks since they got it. On the letter it states they will complete the FLR(M) within 8 weeks from when the got it. Quicker than I thought.

The letter states that you need to go to the post office for the BRP......yep, knew that. They tell you to go online to check where to go. There are 5 choices in Harrogate alone. One fairly close by but is a pretty small post office. Do these small post offices do BRP??? I could see the main one in town doing it, but I don't know so........anybody know if the small ones do it?

If you search on the Post Office branch finder, you'll need to use the 'refine branch services' drop down and select 'Home Office Biometric Enrolment' to get the branches you can go to.

No, biometrics will only be available at larger branches. You can check the branch finder here to see which one you will have to go to.

The process only takes about 5-10 minutes (plus the queue) so be sure you've got some other stuff planned to make good use of the trip.

If I recall correctly (and it may vary branch to branch), you queue with everyone else and once it's your turn, they take you to a special window to take your photo and everything. Keep in mind that the queues might be longer than usual around the holidays. ;)

Oooooh...a special window. I'm just happy if they get this done within 8 weeks. I can always do some shopping......

'Special window' as in a window away from all the others in use where they take your photo and your fingerprints (I think.... but it's been a few years).

Well.....first attempt at BRP is a total failure. On the Post Office site, it had Headingley as a BRP site. Turns out it doesn't do BRP....just a place to pick them up. Made an attempt at going into downtown Leeds....tried a large car park on the North edge of town....many many levels, NOT ONE SPOT open. Gave up. Try it again maybe Friday by train or bus. I really don't like cities....Harrogate is bigger than I like.

Are you sure you’re checking the right thing on the Post Office website?

There are two different services they offer:
1. Home Office Biometrics Enrollment
2. BRP Collection Service.

The one you want is the ‘Home Office Biometrics Enrollment’, which is where you give your fingerprints and photo for a visa application.

The other service is for people who applied for their visa outside the UK to pick up their BRP card after they have arrived in the UK. The Post Office in Headingly only does the BRP card collection service, which is not what you want

In order to give your Biometrics, it looks like you can go to:
- St Johns, 116 Albion Street, Leeds
- The Markets, 6-16 New York Street, Leeds

You need to look for Biometric Enrolment on the link we gave you. It's different.

yeah....I have the correct info from the ladies at the post office in Headingley. Then we made the attempt at heading down the road further into Leeds. We both just start twitching when it comes to large cities and having no clue where to park etc. We'll look up some bus or train schedules and just do that instead in a couple of days. The last time we went into downtown Leeds (most of a year or so ago) we couldn't even find a way back out......went around a few times before desperately taking any ol' road that headed back out of Leeds. Granted, they were doing a lot of work in Leeds at the time and the road were really messed up.
