For applications, is this necessary? I am planning to submit my application tomorrow and I don't have any travel booked since I don't know when I may get the visa.

You should NOT book ANY travel until after your visa has been issued... just in case it is delayed or refused and you cannot travel anyway.

What we mean by flight itinerary is an example itinerary of a flight you would like to book if you get the visa.

For example, say you put your Intended Travel Date as December 12th, you might then go onto an airline website and search for flights to the UK on December 12th. Then you just select a flight that looks good and print the itinerary without booking it. You can then include this printed itinerary with your documents.

It's only optional, but you can include one if you like.

You don't have to send one. Some people do because it emphasises the intended date of travel.

Application letter and supporting documents final !

The letter is a requirement - it’s a confirmation from the sponsor that they support the application and meet all the requirements.

It should include:
Paragraph 1: how they are eligible to be a sponsor (their UK citizenship)
Paragraph 2: their employment information and which financial requirement category they meet
Paragraph 3: where you will live in the UK (property details)
Paragraph 4: a short history of your relationship (facts/dates not feelings), how you communicate and why you are choosing to settle in the UK
Optional: a list of documents the sponsor is including to meet the requirements

From the Supporting Documents Guidance:

Evidence of your relationship to your sponsor and any contact between you
This could be a letter from your sponsor confirming your relationship and that they are supporting your application along with copies of:
- birth certificate or adoption certificate
-marriage certificate or civil partnership certificate
- death or divorce certificate
- photographs of your wedding, civil partnership ceremony or other time spent together

I’m having a bit of a giggle over here.  Step away from the application, you have officially entered the land of over analysis!

I've been known to over analysis a lot witch  probably isn't the best and I know this whole process is just a tick box but they seem to be very nit picky so I'm just making sure everything is good !
It just blows my mind how much they want and the application makes no sense .. I can't use my work as part of moving to the uk but yet they want my work history .. why ?! It makes me so frustrated..
Some of these questions are just like really ?!

That’s because the online application is generic and they ask basically the same questions for all visa types - so the work history questions are mainly aimed at visitors who have to show they have a job to return to after their visit... same goes for the question about how long you plan to stay in the UK - you’re applying for a long-term visa so it doesn’t really apply to you, but you still have to answer it.

That actually makes more sense that u explained it that way ! Because I was sitting there like why on earth do they want this if i cant use it to OUR advantage. They really need to make a separate applications for different visas ... because I was looking are they gonna really look into a job i had 10 years ago .. to my current employment

Yeah, the way they’ve done it means there’s a general online application which just asks questions about the applicant and then the different visa types have a different Appendix specific to that visa... some of which are online and some are paper forms.

So, you fill out VAF4a Appendix 2 for a Spousal Visa, which has all the questions about how you meet the requirements, but other visas have different appendices.
