UPS return shipping not used?
« on: November 28, 2017, 06:58:59 PM »
Hello again everyone! Quick curious thing here about how my passport was returned to me. So I included a UPS return label in my application as well as my account number (in case there were any issues). They didn't use the label I had included when they sent the package back and I have no charges as of yet on my account for a new label (it's been a week since I received the package).

Has anyone else experienced this? It's obviously not the biggest deal as I have the most important thing - my passport and visa - but I want to close/consolidate a bunch of my US accounts/cards and would like to know if these charges just come thru way later?

That's weird. I'm not sure how long it takes for the charges to come through on your account though.

Unless you purchased the VFS Global UPS shipping labels, it's not actually possible to include a return label directly from UPS as they are not able create international return labels... which is the whole reason you have to include your UPS online account number instead, so that you can be charged for the return.

The only options are:
- purchase your return shipping label through VFS Global and include it in the package
or
- include your UPS or DHL online account number for your account to be charged for the return shipping.

I wasn't able to purchase thru VFS as the site wasn't working for me ::shock:: so I did it all myself. I was able to create an international return without issue thru UPS, though.

I mean I guess that either they didn't charge my account or it's just taking a while for the charge to process. I just like to have my accounts in order at the end of every month and not knowing the exact amount/if/when it's being charged makes me a tiny bit anxious.

You can contact UPS about this, they'll be able to easily tell you. At my old company with our business account, we were sent a bill once a month, so I assume that is what be happening here.

I used UPS and it took 10 days for the bill to generate and then I just paid it manually.

Saying that have you checked the tracking? If it was used I would say 10 days. if not I would guess that they used someone else's account by accident ( I read on another forum they did that so I made sure to close my account the second my bill was paid just in case!)

Yeah checked the tracking and it was never used. I'll give it a full month I think since they shipped it and then just close the account either way. I can't believe they used a wrong account tho! How crazy!
