Hi there - I am still quietly observing until I can actually apply for my Visa - shooting for July. Quick history - my UKC husband and I married in the UK in 2000 - I had an work visa which I converted to an ILR in 2002 then we moved to Cali in 2005 -been here ever since.
My main problem is that we lost several items that could have been used for relationship evidence to flood damage. Can I use copies of our council tax bills to prove we lived together the entire period between 2000-2005? These were emailed to me by the council so not sure if they will be acceptable. I also got a copy of our title register that shows when we bought the property so may include for good measure.
Planning on using tax returns for our time here in Cali - I have been mailed transcripts for the past 4 years with a cover letter and picked up account transcripts from my local IRS office for the rest of the time dating back to 2008. Because the account transcripts only show our current address and we lived elsewhere from 2005-2008 I was going to either pay for actual copies of our tax returns for that period or get some other proof such as a copy of our lease agreement from the apartment manager or failing that (since it was over 7 years ago) a letter from her stating when we lived there. Will that work?
About financials - a bit confused how to work this out. We are short the 62,500 by about 8,000 GBP. Am I correct in thinking that as long as my husband is making over 8,000 per year we'll meet the requirement?
As always thanks for your guidance!
