Edited to add: if you are applying in person, just ignore what I've said below

Not sure what you mean by:
•   Application Confirmation/Payment Receipt

If you are using the paper form, you won't have an application confirmation or payment receipt, because you send your payment details with your package and you receive your application confirmation in the post.

The process is:
- fill out application form
- gather documents
- pay IHS
- mail application form, IHS receipt and documents to Durham
- your visa fee payment will be deducted from your bank account a few days later
- you will receive an application confirmation letter in the post within 1-2 weeks
- you will also receive a letter inviting you to give biometrics at a local Post Office
- you give biometrics
- you wait for the visa to be processed

I'm just going to rearrange your documents into the order they should be presented:

Applicant
•   FLR(M) Application Form
•   Application Confirmation/Payment Receipt (for in-person appointment?)
•   IHS Payment Receipt
•   Current US passport
•   2 Passport Photos with Name of Applicant on Back
•   Diploma from the University of Nottingham (only required if the applicant is NOT a US citizen and is therefore not exempt from the English Language Requirement)

Sponsor
•   UK Passport
•   1 Passport Photo with Name of Sponsor on Back

Finances
Mandatory

•   6 Full Months of Payslips
•   6 Full Months of Bank Statements
•   Employer Letter (the pay rise explanation should be in this letter - you don't need two letters)
Optional but recommended
•   Job Contract from 2013
•   P60 from 2017 (you do NOT need the P60 from 2016)

Accommodation
•   Land Registry
•   Mortgage Statement

Relationship
•   Marriage Certificate
•   2 Pieces of Mail Jointly Addressed to Applicant and Sponsor
•   4 Pieces of Mail Addressed to Applicant
•   4 Pieces of Mail Addressed to Sponsor

If you are applying in person, you do NOT need any pictures of you together as you will both be at the appointment together so they can see you've met.

Thought I would jump in and ask a few questions as we're also preparing for our marriage on a fiancee visa and are likely to have similar questions.  I hope that's okay?  Happy to make a separate thread if you would prefer @palfretron3 :)

***

My fiancee is arriving in the UK in early January following the approval of her fiancée visa earlier this month.

We have booked an intention to marry appointment for 3 February. This is 34 days before our wedding which is booked for 9 March.

Question:  Is there any reason to suspect we will be asked to give 70 days notice rather than the usual 28?  It is our understanding that this only applies “non-EEA national with limited or no immigration status in the UK”, so we assume that my fiancée will not be included under this definition given her visa status?

It’s possible that we will opt for the same day service so that my fiancée can start work as quickly as possible.  Does this have any implications for how we should prepare our application?  Regardless of whether we opt for in-person / postal, do we begin our application through printing and filling out the same online form?

We want to start prepping the application ASAP so will follow the list provided by @ksand24 above.

One query on collecting bills / documents with both our names on – does anyone know if my fiancee will face any barriers to being legally listed on a tenancy agreement while she is on a fiancee visa?  My current tenancy expires in mid-Jan so we're hoping she can sign a new one with me once we have found new accommodation.

We'll be living in rented accommodation with three other housemates when we apply for the FMR(M) visa.  Any tips on how to collect as many documents with our names on as possible?  I thought that utility bills etc were typically addressed to a single person?

Many thanks for any help!  :D

The only thing about jumping in on someone else's thread is that it can become confusing when trying to answer the questions as to whose situation is whose!

With the fiancé visa, it's very unlikely that you would have to wait the 70 days.

Don't do the online form, it's glitchy and the questions are different from the paper form. From the little we've seen of it, it's not well worded either.

Your list will not be the same as your circumstances are different. Best to compile your own one and we'll check it over for you.

Have her change her address with her US banks and credit cards so that you will receive that mail. She can also apply for a provisional license and enroll with a GP, once that's done she can open a bank account.  But note that she'll still need to use her health insurance for most NHS access until she gets her FLR(M)

If it helps we only needed 28 days notice for marriage since we had a fiance visa therefore not having to be referred to the home office.

Many thanks @larrabee!

We will use this as a starting point and create our own thread shortly :)

One quick question however, how are our circumstance different?  It seemed to me that we're in the same situation?

Although you are both applying for FLR(M), your individual circumstances are not the same. For example, the accommodation documents in palfreton's list apply to a property which is owned but you have mentioned that you rent so the evidence that you will have to provide will be different. :)
