Online Booking Question (please ease my mind!)
« on: January 07, 2018, 10:38:00 PM »
I'm hoping I'm worrying for nothing:

A month back, I booked and paid for my premium service (in person) FLR(M) application. I am intending to apply with a paper version rather than the online version of the application.

My one fear (which I'm hoping is unfounded), is before booking the appointment, I had been filling in the online version of this application, mostly to keep the information I would need for my paper version stored in one place and I could have an idea of the info I'd need. I would fill in answers with uncertain info so I could move on to the next section and see what was needed. I can't remember if I had filled in all of the info.

Long story short, I'm wondering if by booking my premium appointment, it would have automatically submitted this online application. I made a payment of 1583 (the amount of the application and the premium service) online. The email received afterwards is titled "UK visa application: payment confirmation - what to do next", and that's the only email I received outside of my IHS payment confirmation.

The checklist tells me to bring my completed application form and supplies me with the link to the blank paper form. I've received no email saying I've submitted an application, but the above mentioned email does mention the "application reference number" which I'm hoping "application" in this case just means my in person application/appointment. Also my online account where it lists my appointment and checklist doesn't mention any sort of online application or give me a PDF of it or anything.

Please please please just tell me I am over reacting and just nervous for my appointment. Thank you so much.

WE did exactly the same thing, we started filling in the on-line form then just put odd answers so we could see the rest of the questions.  We then decided that we would rather do the paper version of the form so gave up with the on-line one.  We printed of the appointment check sheet and the IHS receipt and used the paper application form.  We had no issues at our in person application on 4th Jan in Glasgow, we were approved..

Don't panic, your fine

Whew. You know how when you'd do a bit of the online form, it would email you with a link to click to go back to where you left off? It was when I clicked one of those emails and it immediately took me to the page showing my payment confirmation I thought, "holy crap did it submit the online one?" but as I said could find no set evidence it did.

Also Kezzie, I read your beakdown of your appointment (helpful!), there was no issue bringing your partner along?

This does make me feel much better, thank you for the speedy response. If anyone else has been in a similar situation or has further reassurance, it certainly wouldn't go unappreciated!

Your partner or spouse is expected to go with you.

And I was still getting emails about my online form a couple of months after I received my FLR (M ). I started with the online form but it was so dodgy that I abandoned it and used the paper form instead.

If you have already booked your premium appointment I believe you cannot apply online now anyway - because if you are applying online, you have to submit your online application BEFORE you can book your premium appointment and pay for the visa.

If you have already booked the appointment, then when you go to submit the online application, you get stuck - because you can’t submit it without paying again... and you don’t want to do that.
