Waiting List If Used VFS Global
« on: January 05, 2018, 04:29:21 PM »
Hello everyone  :)

I'm new to the community, but I figured asking you all a question about VFS global, if you all have gone through it, would provide with the peace of mind that my fiancé and I need!

So here's a little back story:
My fiancé lives in Scotland. We're planning on getting married in the States in April, and submitting the application (along with the supporting documents) for a spouse visa.

So my question is this: What would our average wait time be if we paid for the expedited priority service (VFS Global, which is offered by UKVI Sheffield) in the month of April? In other words, for anyone who has submitted their supporting documents/application around April, approximately how many days did it take you to receive an answer?

Thank y'all for the time! I hope to hear from someone soon.

Welcome msstealyotaco!

We applied with priority mid January and I arrived in Scotland March 24th. We had an issue that delayed the decision a bit or it might have been quicker. Applying later...like April would likely take a bit longer, as the closer you apply to summer the busier UKVI gets. There hopefully will be someone on soon who can give you more accurate information. There is also a thread for priority application timelines that you should have a look at.

Hi and welcome!

It’s become extremely difficult to predict how long an application will take but for priority in April a guess might be around  3-6 weeks. It could be more or less though.

Thanks Rick! This is too funny that you've replied! :) I believe we've had a look at the priority application timelines you've mentioned; were they located on a government website? If my memory serves, I think it'd be about a 6-week wait... which is long, but luckily at least we don't think it would affect our Southern States road trip he probably has told you about!

I appreciate the insight, larrabee!

How unlikely is it that I would be a friend and colleague of your fiancé here in Scotland?! The thread I mentioned is here on the forum, and the advice given by wonderful people like larrabee is invaluable. They are truly a blessing.
