Calling Companies

Hi All...and Good Morning, Is it worth calling companies and talking to someone in the HR dept or the IT dept. What and how did some of you apply for jobs..
BTW,, i have just applied for my License (UK)

Maybe.  It's not the way I have found jobs in the past but you never know what might work out for you. 

Seems like last time you were here, you were actually getting interviews by using job sites and registering with agents. I wouldn't stop doing that every day, but you could try a little of both.
How does it feel to be back?  It must be good and bad.

Hi Eddy my OH. Used and it agency called one zero (not sure of spelling) but he got a great job out of it. He was contracting, but has since gone permanent. May be worth a try.

Realise how badly that was written, sorry!  It is an IT agency called one zero, they literally gave him a phone interview and that was it.
