Document checklist - ILR tomorrow!
« on: March 22, 2018, 10:51:22 AM »
Hi everyone! Hopefully my last ILR related post on here  :)
My appointment is tomorrow and I've now got all my documents collated, just need to go make the copies today. Thank you to everyone who has helped me with ad hoc questions, I am so thankful! I put together this list and would be appreciative if anyone could skim over it to calm my nerves. I'm on the 5-year partner route, entered the UK 16 April 2013, BRP expires in May. Here we go:

Application & Identity Documents – Applicant
•Passports (current and expired)
•Biometric residence permit
• SET (M) completed application form (including additional printed page of all dates out of the UK – should I put this at the end or right after that page?)
•2 Passport -size photos, signed
•Life in the UK test pass certificate
•Document checklist
•Appointment and payment confirmation sheet

Application & Identity Documents – Sponsor
•UK passport
•1 Passport -size photos, signed

Financial Requirement documents (all applicant’s – Category A)
• Letter verifying current employment, start date and salary
•Letter verifying payslips
•Payslip, October 2017
•Payslip, November 2017
•Payslip, December 2017
•Payslip, January 2018
•Payslip, February 2018
•Payslip, March  2018 (paid on the 15th monthly)
•Bank statements, originals (6 full statements + 1 partial statement to show March salary going in)
-   September – October 2017
-   October – November 2017
-   November – December 2017
-   December – January 2018
-   January – February 2018
-   February – March 2018
-   March 2018 Partial Statement

Accommodation Documents
•Letter from estate agent verifying current tenancy and authenticity of Docusign
•Printed digital tenancy agreement via Docusign

Relationship / Proof of Cohabitation Documents
•Marriage certificate
•Correspondence:
-   February 2016: Council tax bill (joint)
-   June 2016: Original addressed payslip (partner) and credit card statement (applicant)
-   November 2016: Council tax bill (joint)
-   March 2017: Council tax bill (joint)
-   June 2017: Original addressed payslip (partner) and bank statement (applicant)
-   November 2017: Electricity bill (applicant) and bank statement (partner)
-   March 2018: Council tax bill (joint)
(Side note: I struggled massively with dates for spacing this out right – seems like I have a bunch of bills for one period and then at a total loss for other months; hence the statements and payslips, and lots of council tax statements. Does this feel like enough?)
•Letter from father in law confirming dates living/lodging at his residence

What I will NOT be including:
•   Any photos – I did last time with FLR but this doesn’t feel necessary at this point? Pretty obvious we are in a subsisting relationship!
•A letter from our old flatmate confirming we lived with him – as I concluded this doesn’t fit into the ‘letter from relatives and friends’ requirement, Section 12, note 8,  since we had lease and bills in our name, we weren’t lodgers (I did post this question previously on this forum a while ago, sorry I can’t figure out how to link it!)
•Any floorplan or flat measurements – it’s just us on the lease/living in our property

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Looks great.  You don't need the letter from the FIL, but no big deal if you give them that.

No, they don't want any photos.

Small one, the passport photos - the name should be printed on the back, not signed

I would throw in your September payslip as it seems the payslips are on the 15th of the month.  That way you cover the full six months without a doubt.

Your cohabitation documents look perfect!  Time to sit back and relax.  Take an ipad with movies on it or a book tomorrow (I have the worst luck of having to wait hours when I've done in person).

Thank you so much! And good idea on the September payslip, I didn't even think of that. I'll do that now.

Yeah I'm hoping I get lucky for tomorrow and it's somehow decided very fast :) I will be sure to keep you updated! Thank you again for all of your amazing help the past few weeks!

I was the last appointment of the day for my ILR.  Earlier computer problems meant a 6 hour wait just for my application to be picked up.  It was only about 40 minutes for the actual processing.  :)

Here's hoping you don't have a bazillion people in front of you tomorrow!  It does seem everyone else is in and out really quick.

APPROVED! Appointment was at 8am, so one of the first people up. I was in and out of biometrics within 20 minutes and out the door by 9.30! So relieved!

Thought it was kind of odd they don’t give you any sort of ‘ILR grant’ letter. Just a letter saying the BRP had been issued. It felt quite anti-climactic! But so happy to be done and thank you all again for your help :)

APPROVED!

Congratulations!  ;D  It's not cheap but *so* worth it to go for the in-person ILR appointment!  ;D

SO worth it. I could barely wait an hour as it was, let alone months :)

I so wish there was a same day decision available for simple citizenship applications too! We're just hunkering down for that wait now!

I thought that wait wasn't *too* bad.  At least I wasn't stuck without my passport.

I know what you mean, I kind of felt that way about FLR(M)(we didn't need our passports). Still be nice to get it all over with though, that in person ILR appointment really spoiled me!  ;D
