Hello from Manchester UK
« on: March 26, 2018, 09:14:20 PM »
Hello,

Just wanted to say hello and let you know a little bit about our story. Me and my wife have been together for just over four years and married since September. We met when she was studying abroad at Stirling University and I only managed to stir up the courage to approach her 2 days before she returned to the USA. We spent the next few months getting to know each other and then she came to visit me for over a month at Christmas. We fully fell head over heels for each other and 3 years, 6 countries and a whole lot of skype we have go married and getting ready to start the spousal visa process and finally be a normal couple.

Not going to lie, the panic is truly starting to kick in that something is going to go wrong but this website has already been so helpful to us, and every day we learn more. This site is really amazing, and love hearing about the successful stories from everyone. Anyway really can't wait to get this process going. :)

Welcome, samsonb93!  As KF said, absolutely don't be afraid to ask questions!  I can say with certainty that I would not have been successful without the amazing help from this forum.  So far, they've helped me through my marriage (fiancee) visa and two FLR(M)s, and I'm going for my fourth and final visa in 6 weeks time (you'll only do three visas, because you're already married... so you'll skip the marriage/fiancee visa and just do spousal, one FLR(M) and ILR).
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)
