My solicitor is going to file my app with Sheffield this week. I've paid for priority. I've got a question about biometrics appointments. My solicitor says once the application is filed she will get a biometrics appointment. Is that correct? Seems kinda crazy that she makes the actual appointment for me. Does she actually get the authorization to make an appointment and then it's up to me to get it done? That would make more sense. Does anyone know how long it takes from submission of application, to actually getting an appointment? Thank you very much.
99% of applicants from the USA do not use a lawyer, as a lawyer is only recommended if you have a serious criminal conviction or a previous overstay of a visa.
Sounds like your lawyer is in the drivers seat and you’ll be in the dark for most of the ride.
What we can tell you is that you will likely be able to walk-in for you biometrics prior to your appointment.
Have you gone with a reputable attorney?
Things to be concerned with:
They tell you that you need a property inspection report
They say you need statements from friends and family
They say priority applications are processed in 15 days and/or calculated from biometrics
Those are just a few
When do you plan to marry? Do not book ANYTHING until you have your visa in hand (we try to convince people to marry first and skip the fiancé visa).
Other than that - Welcome!
