Best pizza of my life!
« on: May 31, 2018, 01:29:41 PM »
Wow.  An Italian food truck showed up today.

I swear this little old man had driven straight over from Italy.  I was halfway through when I realised I should take a pic.

AMAZING.  Perfect balance of thin crispy crust, sauce, spinach, artichokes, and mozzarella and Parmesan.  His pastas looked incredible.  I hope he comes back!!!

That sounds amazing!  My husband should like it, too, because it has veg on it, and he's always complaining we don't eat enough varieties of veg.

I wonder where I could get artichokes in my little food desert I live in.  I really really need to get a car so I stop having to rely on Tesco for the bulk of my groceries!

These were jarred/canned artichokes.  But yummers just the same.

I did see FRESH artichokes last week in Croatia and nearly bought them.  They were very small though and seemed like there wouldn't be enough "meat" on them to steam (the way I like them)

I've gotten canned and frozen artichokes from Sainsbury's, could be worth looking for at tesco!

I love artichokes on pasta and pizza. We haven't done that in a while, good idea for the weekend!

My litttle man wanted pizza for lunch today and all I got for him was a frozen Pizza Express pepperoni pizza from Tesco. Your slice definitely looks 200% more delish!!! Now i’m hungry again. Ha

I know every post is bragging about my holiday, but I've had pizza for at least 8 of the last 15 meals.

They're like puppies in the window... they just want people to take them home!  :)

Want the ultimate pizza then it's New York or Boston, certainly nowhere in the UK.
On The Boston Scale the VERY best UK pizza would score almost 7/10.
I grew up in the Italian district of The Bronx in the 1950's and am the self appointed pizza connoisseur of the world.

as with most "american food items" here ive learned to make my own, its less depressing. the Aldi brand lasagna sauce makes for a very very nice pizza sauce, and NY style crust recipes are all over the interwebs, looking forward to cooler weather so i can fire up the chimnea and really do some nice pies.
