I'm in the UK (since December) on a Spousal Settlement Visa, applied for from the US. My husband is English, and we lived apart for way too many years!
Just an FYI, it is also sometimes cheaper/faster to travel to another US state for the marriage there. I know a few of our members have gone to Vegas or NYC - as long as its a legal marriage it is valid for the visa.
Sometimes its good to take a few days to review all your options once you know them.
