Just got our ILR
« on: August 05, 2018, 10:57:04 AM »
A huge thank you to the experts on this forum. Their information has been a godsend over the past 5 years.
We started this process back in January 2013 and yesterday we received a surprise package in the mail. My ILR.
This was through the 5-year spousal route.
One piece of advise to those going through the Set(M) - watch out for expiration dates on your forms.
On April the 6th this year we had already filled out the 70 or so pages and were just about to send it off when we thought we'd just check the government website only to notice that they had updated the form and it advised that you had to use this new one...back to the printer...

Wishing all of you that are going through this process the best of luck.

Jon

P.S. will of course be back on this forum to check about citizenship :)

Congratulations!   [smiley=balloon.gif] [smiley=balloon.gif]

It's nice to actually get something positive in the mail (that's not a company asking for money) - and especially such a lovely surprise!

Don't worry; citizenship is a walk in the park compared to all the previous visas you've gone through.  ;)  But feel free to come back and ask away with any questions.

Excellent.  We don't have too many people who have applied by post so nice to have an up-to-date statistic.  :)

Congratulations on your ILR!

If you are able to recall and don't mind helping out, can you tell me when you posted your application and did biometrics, and the date you got your approval?  Not too many people are doing postal ILR applications, and I'm trying to collect data to give to future applicants so they can decide whether or not they need to spend the extra money for premium.

I only have two complete data points, so far.  Click here to see the spreadsheet.
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)
