wow! been so long cause things have been crazy (great) since arrival. got over my initial jitters, which were basically all dog related (fiancé wanted me to goto a bunch of festivals with him, but i was really uncomfortable leaving my dog with a stranger right after moving. luckily we found a sitter my dog adores, and my dog hates everyone, so things worked out great). been basically non-stop festivals since i arrived, cause soon to be hubby loves them and i had never been. just got back from boomtown... jeezus! the brits can really party!

anywho, we realized today that a slight miscommunication meant both of us had thought the other booked the hall for the wedding ceremony. not a big deal really, we just had the conversation one deunk night after a comedy show (that night we also apparently ordered 4 sequin pillowcases with nicholas cage on them which just turned up and made us laugh). anywho, i’m gonna call to book the hall tomorrow. it’s gonna be a small ceremony in one of those “every 15 minutes a new wedding” register office places, as we wanted to save our money for festivals rather than a big wedding. just wondering if there is anything else i need to do? some registration thing i need to call and take care of, or will that all be done at the registration office on the day of the wedding? thanks y’all!

Hey Meg, glad everything is going well!  :)

Have you given notice yet? You have to do that first.

1.  Give notice
2.  Wait
3.  Book date for after notice period and granted approval to marry
4.  Marry
5.  Do your next visa

crap! didn't see that :P luckily we gave ourselves a couple months window, and only a few of our close friends are coming (and if they weren't at our wedding, we'd just be having a drink at the pub as we do most days with them, so no biggie on changing the date a few days). ok, so we'll get on that tomorrow and book our date at the same time. is it ok if it happens a few days later than what we put in our application? i know i should have checked all this way earlier, but things got so crazy between all the festivals and i got an eye infection a couple weeks ago that got nuts (thank goodness my guy's dad was an eye doctor, so he knew exactly how to take care of it without involving doctors and whatnot).

As long as you actually get married and submit an application for FLR(M) before your fiance(e) visa expires, you'll be fine.  It won't matter if your wedding date wasn't exactly the same one you mentioned in your application - after all, those are just tentative plans anyway considering UKVI specifically recommends not to book anything until you know you have your visa approval.
