Your in-laws have a pool JFKimberly?  This doesn't help us believe that you're not posh and living on a giant estate  :P ;)

SHE HAS STABLES!!!!!

Not anymore, KF!  Now I have a workshop!  :P  And it's just a timber-built structure!  It's not like old stone buildings and stuff.

My in-laws have a pool and an amazing garden and lots of space in their 3-bedroom/2.5-bathroom house. My husband and I have a small enclosed garden, workshop, and a 2-bedroom/1-bathroom bungalow that very well may fall down when we eventually remove the old render (next summer?).  I promise you, we are soooo not posh!  Remember: I kitchen in my laundry room!

Crap.  I forgot that laundry rooms are luxuries here.  But, honestly... if my husband wasn't so ashamed, I would show you what our house looks like, and you'd realize how very not-posh we are.  We live in a hovel!*

* But I love my hovel.  I love it to bits (which is good, because it's likely to be in bits before we get around to renovating it).

Totally correct. LOL.

We always say my husband is posh because he wears red trousers.  He loves them! He also has green, mustard, khaki, and brown. But red are his favourite ones to wear.

Lol.  I don't even know him but would love to see all the colorful trousers!  That does sound rather posh.  :D

Wild and windy here (the weather, not me!)

When I went to bed last night I went and got the electric blanket out and put it on the bed.  Bliss!

Looks like Autumn is on her way in.

Haha! I don't even take mine off the bed!  ::). I mean, I don't use it in the summer (and mostly rely on hot water bottles anyway) but those underblankets are a beast to get in place, not going to do that more times than I have to!  ;D

We've got an over blanket with dual controls.  American hubby thought I was insane - until he encountered Winter.  Now he loves it.

I do think that an electric blanket should be part of the none existent "Welcome to the UK" pack.

When I lived in a drafty old cottage that was frickin freezing, hot water bottles and tons of blankets were extremely useful.  But I live in a (now) 3 year old house now and the insulation is insane. One duvet and the warmth of my husband is enough to make me boil, even in the winter.

Still feels like summer here though, 14C!

Our duvet is thankfully warm enough, but I agree on the Welcome to the UK Pack. I will be replacing my electric blanket soon!

My husband put a heated pad thing on our bed when I came over.  He also bought me a heated throw, but the wiring broke on it within a year.  But I LOVE my heated mattress pad!

My ex husband bought my husband and I a plush heated mattress pad for Christmas last year.

Got the first set of quilts washed at the Majestic Laundry just in time. It's decidedly chilly in the house the last couple of days.... SO much better than when it was "hot".  ;)

There is definitely a feeling in the air of autumn, though. Not just the damp.
