Here is the USDA's webpage on taking pets from the US to the UK:
https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/pet-travel/by-country/eu/eu-echinococcus/pet-travel-echinococcus-treatments-uk

Also, here is a list of NVAP Coordinators by state:
https://www.aphis.usda.gov/animal_health/vet_accreditation/downloads/nvap_coordinator.pdf

From this page on the USDA website: https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/ourfocus/animalhealth/nvap/ct_locate_av

You need to get in touch with the appropriate NVAP Coordinator for your area in order to get a list of USDA accredited vets near you. Your paperwork must be completed and signed by a USDA accredited vet in order to be valid. Good luck and safe travels!

I got the paperwork done for their travel myself.
Then I got a company to book their travel on KLM etc.
I then contacted a company at Manchester Airport to receive them and do the import paperwork etc.
Then I contacted a courier to collect them from the airport and bring them to me.

What company did you use to receive and do import paperwork? Is it necessary to hire a company if we are planning to pick the animals up from the airport (also Manchester) in person?

I used Sea Air cargo and they helped me arrange everything, and it was less expensive than a full relocation service. Between vet fees, certification, flight, and reception I think we paid about £1500, possibly a little less.

Do you have a link for Sea Air Cargo? A quick google search results in many different companies with the same name

I lived in Buffalo so flew out of Toronto... Seaair.ca. Your airline should have a list of approved cargo companies :)

I'm trying to make sure my cat is on the same flight as me. Should I book my flight first and then contact the airline/shipping company to get my cat a spot on the plane? or should I try to book it all at once?
I'm very overwhelmed on where to start.

You should probably ask the airline what their policy is.

I tried calling and cargo directed me to reservations and reservations directed me back to cargo. ???
So I'm at a loss right now....
I'm hoping someone can walk me through what they did.

I would keep calling back until you get the information you need. There must be someone who knows the procedure. Try asking for a supervisor.

My cat is in England! Parents flew her in cargo using Air France to Paris yesterday and we drove back to England today. My parents said nobody ever checked her paperwork and we had a quick check before taking the Eurotunnel. We used the french/english version from the USDA website.

The airline required her food to be empty at check in and said they would feed her, but it looks like they didn't. We attached a hamster water bottle above the water bowl in case the water bowl ran out and it looks like she used that to get water during the trip. My dad created a small litter box out of cardboard for her crate which worked well since her box was oversized for her to begin with (if you are in between crate sizes, or even if you're not, I suggest sizing up so your pet has more room!) She didn't use it during the flight, but it caught the water that spilled from her bowl.

Upon arriving home, she walked out the window on the second story (the roof slants right outside the window) and promptly starting sliding down the roof and I had to grab her to prevent her from sliding the whole way... Looks like we will be keeping the windows shut from now on!
