Anyone been there,or thought about going?,some of the kiddies we look after want to visit but I fear its going to be a long journey with very little to do when we get there.

Dave

PS I saw it was snowing there today, that put me off too LOL.

Is that Balmory on the Isle of Bute (a beautiful Island), or Balmoral where the Queen has her place ... I ask because Balmoral is much the bigger and more famous, so it could be what you meant.  Oh - both are long journeys with limited attractions in Winter ...

I think he is referring to the kiddies telly programme, not Balmoral, and its filmed at Tobermory on the Isle of Mull.  Try here for things to do...

Ah - I'm showing my age there.

Tobermory and the Isle of Mull are beautiful - I would strongly recommend a trip to the Island in summer.  In winter, you'll find almost everything closed ...

My daughter loves this programme!  Although the weegie lassie with the turned-up hair does my nut in.  I know some day she'll be after us to take her there.  One of the academics was badgered into going with his son.  If you can avoid going whilst school is out, it would be wise to do so.  Otherwise, it is overrun with kiddies.  As long as there's a good pub there, however, it will be a pleasant trip.   ;)

Yes, that is a sincerely unflattering hairstyle on any lady - but especially bad on her!

LOL!  Not likely, the programme is on all year.  Just prepare for lots of youngsters during summer, but it can be nice there in Spring or early Autumn when they're all in school.  Poor Nigel (the academic whose son niggled him into going)!  He really isn't the 'Balamory' type.  Thankfully, he is the pub type!  ;)

Might give it a go next spring then, although the one bright spark we care for has informed me that Archie's house isn't actually there in real life, don't suppose I would have noticed myself.

I must admit, the songs are very catchy...Archie is my favourite. You gotta love a posh boy in a pink kilt! ;)
