Bank statement issues
« on: September 17, 2018, 10:43:45 PM »
Hello again,

Do you need to cover every single day of the 6 or 12 months? We want to apply before the end of the month as I get paid on the 14th, so we won’t have an official end of the month bank statement, but we have a mini statement printed and signed by the bank for the last 7 days showing my pay deposit for this month.

The statement only shows a few days of sept the 11-18,  I asked if I could screen shot and print my online statement but the bank would not stamp it as it was not the official end of the month.

Will what I have suffice? The mini statement and add the unstamped online statement? So I have to wait til the end of the month now?

Also- for the personal messages do I censor them with a sharpie or do I have to let them read them?

 Thanks!!

The date range on the statements MUST cover every single day of the 6 or 12 months. If you’re even 1 day short, the visa may be refused.

However, a statement printed/stamped/signed by the bank showing any and all transactions between the 11th and the 18th will be fine.

You should not include ANY message content. You just want a list of names, dates and times... like an old itemised phone bill.

You should just be able to screenshot each message, paste it into Word and then crop out the actual message, so that you’re just left with a small picture with only the name, date and time on it. You should be able to get about 20-30 messages on one sheet of paper this way.

So would you recommend that we wait till the end of the month to be able to send September 1-30 or

Send the official mini statement from the bank proving that I got paid this month, plus the rest of the month screen shotted to show the rest of the days but NOT stamped by the bank?

Also what documents fall in the 28 days rule? Is it just employment letter and last bank statement? Or is the landlord letter included plus anything else?

I’m confused - what days does it not show? How can it cover 11th to 18th September and also not cover it at the same time? If it’s dated 11th to 18th September and shows all your transactions, then it covers every single day.

Your bank statements must cover at least 6 months and at least all the dates on the payslips, so if your last payslip was dated 14th September, your 6 months that you need to cover will be:
14th March 2018
to
14th September 2018

So, as long as your bank statements cover at least 14th March to 14th September, you will be fine.

Depending on the dates on the payslips and bank statements, may need to send more than 6 months of each, just to make sure every day from March 14 to Sept 14 is covered (I.e. you might send Feb 14th to Sept 14th).

It’s the financial documents only, so:
- latest payslip
- latest bank statement
- employer letter

I’m sorry I should have specified, the mini slip is only for September 11- September 18.

I will go back tomorrow to see if they can give me a mini slip with sept 1-15. Thanks !

I’m still confused though - why is that an issue? And why do you think it’s not suitable for the visa?

It’s BETTER to have a statement that covers up to the 18th than the 15th... because you’re giving yourself a bit more leeway with the document dates.

What exactly have they given you? A mini slip is not acceptable for the visa, because mini statements are the tiny bits of paper you get from an ATM machine showing your transactions... and UKVI will not accept those.

What you need is a partial statement that has been printed inside the bank by a cashier, usually on A4 paper, and shows the most recent transactions up to that date (because a full monthly bank statement is not yet available).

Usually it’s just a case of going inside the bank and asking them to print a statement showing your latest transactions from a certain date up to today’s date (they may be able to print up to a full 6 months of statements)

My August bank statement shows up to sept 5, and then I don’t have anything. So I went in and they printed me a mini statement showing the last few days. It’s actually the 11-16, so I’m missing about a week of transactions.

I went in today and they said that the only thing they can do is print the mini statement, they don’t do partial statements (nationwide) and they won’t stamp my online copy. So I guess I have to wait until the end of the month.

But if they did a "mini statement" from the 11th to the 16th, how is that not a partial statement, and why can't they do a partial statement that covers the missing dates from the 6th?  I don't understand the distinction between what they've given you and what they refuse to give you.

I’m not sure, they just said that the system only lets them go back a few days for the mini.

But you can’t use mini statements for the visa - they are not accepted.

Bank statements must either be:

- official bank statements mailed to you in the post
Or
- official bank statements printed in branch (these can be full or partial statements - if they are partial they are usually dated from the end of your previous statement to the current date)
Or
- online bank statements printed at home and stamped/sign by the bank on every page

If your local branch of Nationwide won’t print partial statements or stamp online statements, I would try a different branch instead.
