FLR M renewal question

Hello ,  :-[

So i thought i was on top of things keeping letters and documents for my american husband in the lead up to our visa renewal thinking that they were needed to prove that he was living at the address we gave in our first application.
Things such as ..
- doctors registration
-Tax code
-bank statements
- letters from his work
-dvla
-general mail addressed to him
 
My dad has added my husband to the water bill with HIS name as well as a gardeners invoice.

We are living at my dads house and have no bills together. The only thing in our name is we have a joint savings account. I am now panicking as i we dont have anything in our name to amount to the 6 sources required?
 ??? ??? ???

What do i do ?  :\\\'( :\\\'(

Have you been keeping your own post, as well?  The items don't all jave to be jointly addressed to you, but you do need six pieces with each of your names on.

This can be:
• six pieces in just your name and six pieces in just his name, for a total of 12 pieces of post,
• six pieces jointly-addressed to you and your husband, or
• a combination of jointly-addressed and individually-addressed post so that there are six things that have your name on, and six things that have his name on.

All of these pieces of correspondence must be spread evenly over six dates from the last two years (about every four months), must be from at least three different official sources (GP, bank, utility, government, etc.), and must have come through the post (no online statements/bills).
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)

You need 6 documents in each name, but only 3 different sources total.

It doesn’t matter what address you have been living at, just that you have mail in both of your names at the same address as each other.

So you can use any of the following:
- water bills
- bank statements
- letters from the NHS
- letters from DVLA
- letters from HMRC
- any other official mail

You’ll want one document in each name, for each 4-month period of the last 2 years. They can be in joint names, or individual names (but you need one each for each month you are using).

So, say you are applying in October 2018, you might use mail from:

Oct 2016
Feb 2017
June 2017
Oct 2017
Feb 2018
June 2018
(extra: Sept/Oct 2018)

do they accept letters from places such as specsavers?

Yep, you can use as many bank statements as you like.

You only need 3 sources between you, so, for example, if you have all individual items (so 12 in total), you could use 1 water bill, 1 NHS letter and 10 bank statements.

However, I’m not sure that the phone bill purchase or the First Aid Certificate will be acceptable documents as they may not be considered official mail.

You could maybe try that as a last resort, but I’m not sure it would be acceptable. It should be official mail from utility companies, government departments or banks. You can use things like tenancy agreements and mortgage statements too.

The list of acceptable sources is on the FLR(M) form.

Wow that's a huge relief, You really are a god send  :)!

Thank you so much for your help. I get so confused with the web pages when trying to find the right one for the visa i'm looking for with all the correct information.

SO last question JUST so ive got this correct and can sleep tonight ...... i myself could just submit 6 bank statements as long as his six documents contain two other sources and they are the same months as each others letters ?

Not sure. They aren’t listed on the list of acceptable documents, so if you have something else you can use, that would be better.
