Spouse Renewal
« on: April 15, 2018, 02:15:59 PM »
Hey,

So as I understand we can't apply for our spouse renewal until 8 weeks before my wife has been here for 30 months...

My wife moved here May 2nd 2016 which means her 30 months will be 2nd November 2018.. That means we can't apply for our visa until 2nd September 2018?

Is this correct?

Thank you :) .. We are in the 'once back of our mind getting closer to the front' stage of thinking about our renewal and would be good to know solid dates we have to work towards,

Oh yeah forgot to ask - on her passport it says Valid from: '19/04/16' (I guess when it was approved) but her VISA was stamped on '02/05/16' (When she came) .. which is the date we have to work to?

You can apply not earlier than 28 days before the 2.5 year anniversary of her entry to the country, not the valid from date ( and not 8 weeks!)  :)

So, if she will reach 30 months on November 2nd 2018, the earliest she can apply will be 5th October 2018.

Hi,

Just coming back to this. My wife Entered the county on 2nd May 2016. This means she will have been in the country for 2.5 years on November 2nd 2018. When would our deadline for our FLM (R) be? 2nd November?..

We've been meaning to post this but have had a lot of 'life' events happen recently all at once so we haven't managed to yet and just want to know a solid dealdine :)

Thanks

You can apply any time from 5th October up until the expiry date of her spousal visa.

Thank you Ksand24.... So on her Resident Permit she has a valid until date which is in Jan 2019. Is this it?

Yes, that’s correct - the BRP is her visa.

If she applies by post, the package must be postmarked on or before that date in January.

If she applies in person, she must attend the appointment on or before that date in January.

To be safe, it’s best to either mail the package or attend an appointment a few days before the expiry date, at the latest.

Thanks so much that's a great help and relief!

We will be sure to apply this weekend. Definitely before December when the IHS surcharge goes up in price
