Slimming World?

Anyone here done Slimming World? I was on Weight Watchers Online in the US but didn’t shift much weight the last time. And now since just before the wedding, I’ve packed on 10 lbs. I’m having increasing back and hip pain (nerve damage) so workouts are almost non existent.

Have you tried it? Pros/cons? Suggestions? TIA  :)

A friend of mine goes to a weight loss group, I think it's slimming world, I'll check with her. She really enjoys the way it works and has lost over a stone.  :)

I did Slimming World to lose the baby weight after #1.  It's a fantastic program and I would HIGHLY recommend it.

It's not a crazy diet.  It's truly just teaching you about a healthier lifestyle and how to make better choices.

I say give it a go!  I would recommend going to a local meeting and STAYING for the meeting each week.

I have. It’s been slowly getting worse since August of last year. I injured it a few times at work (nurse). I’ve had an mri and didn’t show anything significant. Ortho said it had to be nerve damage based on symptoms but said I should still have a nerve conduction test. If you’ve never had one, you’re missing out  :\\\'(

I had a horrid night sleep last night with an attack of RLS. That doesn’t happen often. Just shows me, weight needs to come off now. And we need a new bed  ;D

I’ve never been a ‘meeting’ person though. When I very first did WW, I did meetings and hated it. Did great with online but of course would gain as soon as I stopped. I’ve put 20 lbs on since 2014. It’s ridiculous.

I may look into meetings this time though. Get to meet people. (Yay friends!)

It's hard for most people, which is why I recommend really trying to attend.  I met some great people and still bump into people quite frequently around town, even 4 years on!  You can tell your leader you just want to observe.  You will NOT be the first person to ask.  :)

I hope your back starts to feel better.  Any chance of finding a swimming pool you can go in?  I find just moving around in water for 20 minutes or so (not even swimming, just being in water) is SO good for my back.

I’ll look. We live in a tiny village so there’s nothing here but I can look at Ellon or Peterhead. They’re not too bad far off.

I've had really good results with an app on my phone called 8fit.  There is an annual charge for it (£46? Don't quote me on that.) and the best part is that there are no meetings.

It's not really a diet thing, more of a lifestyle change thing, and I love it because you can set a meal plan for the week (out of provided recipes, after telling the app what foods you like/don't like and whether you want quick cook meals, etc) and make a shopping list out of it to take to the store.  Definitely the thing I've always found about "dieting" was knowing where to start and what to eat, and feeling overwhelmed as a result... This takes the guesswork out completely, which I love.

It also has various exercises on it that you can do, but I mostly use it for the meals and meal tracking. 100% recommend it.
