Today I submitted and paid for my FLR(m) form and IHS form online via the UK govs website. At the end of this form I noticed it said that dated from Nov. 4th 2018, you no longer have to include passport sized photographs, and originals and copies are now accepted as evidence.

What threw me off was that it said I had to get my biometrics done at the nearest post office within 15 days of the submission of my application [Same rule as when you need to post the application by.] I had already done my biometrics as part of my initial Fiance Visa back in the states in March, but nowhere in the online form did it ask if I had done this, yet reading posts about the paper form I noticed they did there. My main point here is that I do beleive now they have changed it so you absolutley have to pay an extra £19.20 at the post office to get another set of biometrics and photographs done before they accept your application and ussie you the BRP card. There was no way around this, and at the end of the form it had me print out the biometrics page to give to the post office that confirmed my submission, my IHS number, and my personal information.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Seems silly to make somone have to retake biometrics.

You have to re-take biometrics for every single visa application, regardless. It's so they know that you are who you say you are.  :)

Thank you for the clarification! Funny how I havent read anything about the biometric bit before. Then again seems liek alot of people dont do the Fiance to spouse while in the UK route.

Guess the main thing then is that they seem to not want the passport photos anymore. Seems nicely streamlined however. Wish I knew this before me and my husband spent £6 each on new photos last week ha!

I did that route and really wish we'd gotten married in the states to save on that visa cost.

You have to do biometrics for every single file visa, I've done it once in the States and twice here in the UK for my two FLR visas.

Make a note as to when you do your biometrics as you have to put those dates down on your next application.

The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.
