30 WD Escalation
« on: November 13, 2018, 01:20:33 AM »
Still nothing in regards to answers at 31 working days. I have emailed them about escalating my case and the reply was that I didn’t give them enough info and to send it, but then I immediately got a second email stating that my Problem was “solved” even though they had not even found my case yet.

Does this mean that I need to start a new email request? They have not replied to my answer on the original email although it’s only been a few days.

There is no such thing as an escalation.  It's just something they tell you to make you happy.  Save your money and sit tight.  Since the new system, no one has heard anything yet.

What was the date of your email confirming your "application is being prepared for an entry clearance officer"?  That's when the business days start to count.  And even then, your MP won't help until you've passed 60 business days.

As I understand it, the OP sent their priority application to New York at the beginning of October and has yet to receive a confirmation email from Sheffield.

Although it’s been 30BD since your application arrived in New York, the processing time has previously not started until Sheffield send their confirmation email.

So, assuming it generally takes about 3 weeks to get the email confirmation, I’d say you may only actually be on about 15 BDs at the moment.

If you haven’t heard anything by mid-late January (60 BD), I would try contacting them again.

You are correct, I haven’t received anything yet from them. I submitted oct 1, So should I just assume that its being counted even without an email? All I know is that it was signed for.

This is all so frustrating! 😅

You are correct, I haven’t received anything yet from them. I submitted oct 1, so my 60 day mark is in December but I’m now concerned that they might not be counting my days at all since I haven’t received anything from them at all. All I know is that it was signed for.

This is all so frustrating!

As long as it was signed for, you know they have your application, and the visa WILL be processed.

The only question is how long it will take. Not everyone receives the email from Sheffield - some emails do get missed accidentally - so that’s nothing really to be worried about. We have never seen Sheffield lose or not process an application.

Given that it seems to be taking about 3 weeks for Sheffield to acknowledge the application now (compared with 1-3 days before the new system), I would estimate that it could take at least 3 weeks longer than it was before... and it was taking up to 2 months then... so I would estimate about 3 months from your documents arriving in New York for the visa to be processed.

However, we don’t actually know how long it is taking because no one who has applied since mid-September has received decision yet.

You know they have the application, so all you can do now is wait.

Here's hoping they can work out the kinks as I would presume they implemented the new process to help streamline the system, not make it take even longer. It's still new, so it's going to take time for them to work out any issues, but here's hoping it doesn't delay things by too much. :(
Even when life seems at it's most dark and despairing.. there is within the power to make change.
