uk savings account

I'm a dual US/Irish citizen, resident in the UK for over 20 years. I've had savings accounts in the past but now more banks are excluding dual US citizens from opening them. (Once they ask if you're a US citizen, and you tick yes, they say they can't take you). Does anyone have recent information about bank savings accounts (non-ISA) that accept USCs? just out of curiosity, what happens to USCs who just tick 'no' when asked.
I declare all my income and file returns in the US and UK etc. and Irish cits don't need leave to remain.

I would definitely not lie on the form and state that you are not a USC when applying for a savings account.

I’ve only got UK savings accounts with my bank, HSBC, plus some premium bonds with NS&I, the rest of my savings are held in the USA. I do know that NS&I regular savings accounts are excluded from USCs so I certainly can believe many more UK places won’t accept USCs.

Royal Bank of Scotland gave me a savings account, in conjunction with my checking and credit card. No problem. At account opening I gave them my US and my Eire citizenship info. When I was asked where I was a tax resident, I said UK. (Which is true.) Later they sent me a letter asking for confirmation that I was a US citizen, which I confirmed. No problems thereafter (other than things unrelated to the citizenship issue).

I have 3 savings accounts with the Bank of Scotland. They would allow me to have up to 5.

I have savings with Lloyd's and with Virgin Money.  I used my US passport and my BRP as my identity documents at accounts opening, so they're fully aware of my nationality.  (They don't know that I recently became a dual US/UK citizen, but it's the US citizenship that's at question, here.).
