It's the story that just keeps on giving.

I know he hasn't embellished it for me because I would have no clue what he was talking about.  And believe it or not, he is a bit ashamed of it as it was an avoidable accident.

But if it were me - I would certainly have added to it every time I told it.

I'm just teasing.

I also used to be a keen angler so I really know how to embellish stories, and assume everyone else does the same.

Hubby thought he would do some casual work for the Post Office leading up to Christmas.  It meant he had to stand for 8 hours and consequently the leg started to play up.  He went to the Manager and said he was having problems with an old wound and would be leaving.  The Manager asked what the problem was and hubby said it was an old gunshot wound.  The Manager obviously had some doubts about this.  So hubby offered to drop his pants and show him.  The Manager declined.

 :D :D :D

Sounds like your hubby has a great sense of humor.

He's very lucky to be alive! Glad the A&E staff treated him like royalty!  Even more lucky!  :)

There's no point telling a story without making it a little better every time.

Reminds me of the time my ear really hurt when I was in Thailand.  I was flying the next day and was terrified the pressure would hurt the entire flight.  The only choice was to take a taxi to the emergency room and take my chances.  Since our kids got a lot of attention wherever we went, I figured I would bring the 18 month old boy along to increase my profile.   I showed up and was immediately mobbed by nurses, who were all dissapointed to find he was fine and it was me who needed help. I was treated like royalty as well, and it only cost £6 or something.

Friends tease each other.

You should hear some of hubby's adventures!

A couple of weeks after he came out of the hospital he was washing his car when a bloke came over, dressed as a black jack dealer saying he had come off shift at the casino (they were in Las Vegas) and his car battery was dead.  So hubby said he had some jump leads and they got in hubby's car to drive to the car with the dead battery.  When they got to an empty area the bloke pulled out a gun and shot a hole in hubby's car door to prove he was serious.  They got to the other car, which did not have a dead battery, and he took hubby's wallet and told hubby to get in the boot of his own car.

Omg! What a life he had.  Glad he’s okay today

Hubby refused to get in the boot of the car.  The man with the gun, realising that it wasn't going to happen and the only option was to shoot hubby (which hubby said he would have to do) the man with the gun took off running on foot.  Hubby jumped in the car and followed him and in the dust and panic accidentally hit him.

The police officer who attended the scene was the same one who had attended when he accidentally shot himself.

Hubby had marked one of the notes (in case such a thing happened) and so could tell the police officer the man with the gun would have it - and sure enough he did.

The man with the gun was arrested but then tried to bring a case against hubby for accidentally hitting him with his car.  So hubby had to go to court and the man who no longer had the gun was brought in, in a wheelchair.  The judge just through the case out.  The gunman had a huge record of previous convictions.
