Spouse Application Mistake re:travel history
« on: November 19, 2019, 10:23:22 PM »
Hi everyone. US lady here trying to join my sweet husband in Belfast. I think I made a big oopsie and was wondering if you guys could help.

In the finals steps of finishing up my application for submission (just have to pay the final application fee), I realized that I had forgotten to include a 24 hour trip to Amsterdam on the "Travel History (other)" section of my application. I've already paid my IHS and so I can't go back and change it, but I have addressed this in my cover letter and plan to write it on my application print out as well (as I've seen in other posts here I believe) - will this suffice or do I need to do something more to address this?

Also, the Amsterdam issue got me thinking - I have traveled to Ireland several times for tourism and transit both before and during my relationship with my husband. On my travel history I only included the most recent trip to Ireland (transit to Belfast) and none of the other times. Should I have included all of those as well?

I've got such a sinking feeling in my stomach about this after realizing that mistake and am crossing my fingers I didn't fork up big time.

Thank you so much for the help!

You need to include every trip you have made.

However, it shouldn’t be an issue. I would just make a note in your cover letter about the error and include a separate sheet with your printed application, listing every trip you have made.

The application changed the travel history requirements recently as well and it no longer requires you to enter all travel history for the UK and the EEA. The only constant is change, right?!  ;D What it requires now are the following:

1. UK travel:  3 most recent trips
2. Countries including EEA nations, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and USA: 2 most recent trips
3. All other countries excluding the above: application allows at least 30 entries
