Hi All,
The basics: married to a British citizen, have FLR-M visa, going for ILR -> Dual Citizenship eventually. No government/private pension in the states to speak of. My spouse is the main earner. I have a part-time job here in England in the charity sector on hourly salary, income fluctuates throughout the year. I was just consulted by our treasurer/payroll person about Nest Pensions. Are there any implications I need to be concerned about before joining and beginning to contribute? I have yet to make over £10,000 a year in this job, but feel any "rainy day" fund is a good idea. Does anyone have any negative experience with the government pensions in UK? Are there restrictions based upon residency/citizenship? Will the IRS come after my employer's (meager) contributions as income?
Any relevant shared experience would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
