Moving to UK from Colorado - Hopefully soon.
« on: March 11, 2019, 10:25:00 PM »
Hi all. I'm planning a move to the UK sometime this year.. I've promised the family this time it's going to happen.
I'm a US citizen, and the rest of the family is dual UK/US. We have a trip to UK scheduled soon, and my wife isn't sure she's going to be getting on a plane to come back. So the move for them may happen very soon.

I'm sure as the weeks go on, I'll be asking a lot of questions, and researching a lot of posts. It's good to see that there is such a huge support group here.

Welcome!  I also moved here from Colorado.   :D

Biggest considerations will be how you will meet the requirements for the visa.... and Brexit.  Luckily you guys haven't pulled the trigger yet and you'll be able to see if this country is still functioning in a few weeks!

Welcome to the site!
I’m also a US citizen whose family are all dual. We were going to move years ago but lots of things delayed us to the point where we abandoned the idea. But now it’s maybe back on!
My dad’s from CO and I lived there for years. Lots of friends and family.
I think probably in your case and mine—they’ve lived away from home so long. It’s our turn now.

Definitely my turn now. My wife has already followed me from CO to VA, and back. So at this point we are hoping to sell our house by late May, and start the paperwork shortly afterwards. We are also going over for a short holiday first, maybe after brexit, maybe not at this rate. Hopefully we will know what the situation is over there before we move.

Good luck with your situation as well.
