Entering UK via France with Ancestry Visa
« on: May 29, 2019, 12:30:34 AM »
Still waiting to hear if our visas are approved. Now I’m thinking about the logistics of getting to the UK and how the visas will be checked.

We’re bringing our two cats with us, and since there are no incoming flights allowed to UK with in-cabin pets, we are planning on flying into Paris first, then using a pet chauffeur service, like pet moves, to cross the channel. This would allow us to have the cats with us at all times at our seats on the plane.

Will this be an issue landing in Paris first? We’d be going straight from the airport to our Airbnb in England. They will have their health certificates and everything as well.

Paris is perfectly fine.  The only place you can't land first is Ireland, because Ireland and the UK are part of a Common Travel Area, so passports don't get stamped between the two countries, and you need your passport (visa vignette) stamped the first time you enter the UK on your spouse visa.
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)

That's just how this process goes.  Just think how accomplished you'll feel at the end of it, though!
