My question is they say they accept international money orders. Where can I get one? I know the post office does money orders but is that acceptable?
I'm pretty sure they recently changed it so you can pay in GBP now, which means just getting a UK money order, not an international one. So I assume you can just get one from the Post Office.
See:

Fees are payable in U.S. dollars or pounds sterling at the exchange rate set by the U.S. government.
Please pay the exact amount for the service you are applying for. We cannot accept an overpayment or an underpayment.
Renew an adult passport (issued within the last 15 years with 10 year validity)
Fee: $110 or £91.
Method of application: By mail.
Important: If you need a new U.S. passport within three weeks and/or if you are unable to obtain an acceptable payment method to apply by mail, then you should apply in person.
Also, side question...when I go to renew my brp which option do I choose? There’s “you have permission to settle indefinite leave to remain” or “you have temporary permission to stay leave to remain”. It’s the second one correct? I’m here on the first spousal visa.
Your BRP shouldn't need to be renewed unless you are changing your name on your passport (because the name on your BRP must match the passport name at all times).
If you haven't already, I would not recommend changing your name on your passport, as it's a long, expensive process to change your name on your BRP. You will need to fill out a form, pay £161 and send off your new passport and BRP to UKVI. It's supposed to take 8 weeks, but I've heard it has taken up to 6 months in the past. This must be done within 3 months or you can be fined £1000.
So, if you did want to change your name, I would wait until just before you apply for FLR(M), as that way you just apply for the next visa in your married name, and your new visa will be issued in that name without you having to renew your BRP.
Edited to add:However, if you are not changing your name and are just updating passport details, I believe you just fill out a free form (Form MCC) and mail it in (you have to manually add 'settlement visa'):

New passport (and you have a BRP)
There is no need to apply to replace your BRP if you obtain a new passport, unless you will have a different nationality (see Report change of circumstances).
Notify the UKVI of your new passport details using form MCC.
