FLR(M) Questions
« on: April 28, 2019, 05:16:16 PM »
Hello,

I am starting to get everything together to apply for FLR(M) next month. I will add all questions/my final checklist to this thread to keep everything together.

I am just starting to gather post from the last two years and have a quick question. If I use credit card or bank statements to prove we’ve been living together the last two years, do I have to include all pages of the statements or just the front page with our address? I guess the same question applies to utility bills that are often pages long.

Thank you.

Just going through all of my post to collect evidence of living together and wanted to check a few things. I am planning on ordering bank statements as soon as pay goes into my husband’s account at the end of the month and will apply as soon as I have it, so probably around the first week of June. Is my timing for evidence correct?

February 2019-May 2019
October 2018-January 2019
June 2018-September 2018
February 2018-May 2018
October 2017-January 2018
June 2017-September 2017

Also, can I please have a very specific list of what is accepted? I’m sorry, I know it’s posted here frequently. I have a letter from Natwest addressed to both of us showing a foreign deposit. I didn’t know if that would be accepted or if it specifically has to be a bank statement. Our bank statements don’t have the dates they were posted, so we can’t use them like I thought! 😩

Also, for FLR(M), are all of these documents scanned and uploaded or posted in with the passports?

Thank you in advance!

Your date ranges look great so far but now you need to narrow it down to one month with in each period. eg Jun, Oct, Feb, Jun, Oct, Feb. And those must be evenly spaced too.
The list is not exhaustive so you can use the bank letter if you need to.
For the bank statements, just use the later of the statement dates. For example, if the statement says it covers March 15th -April 14th, then it counts as April.

This is from the last version of the paper form, I can't see the guidance for the online application.

Quote
f your application is as the partner of a settled person or person who is in the UK with refugee leave or humanitarian protection
Six items of correspondence addressed to you and your partner at the same address as evidence that you have been living together since your last grant of leave in this category, or from the date you first started living together up to a maximum of two years. See Note 11.

Note 11 The items of correspondence should be addressed to you jointly or in both your names. Examples of acceptable items are listed below.
The dates of the items of correspondence should be spread evenly over the whole period you are relying on. They should be from at least 3 different sources. If you do not have enough items in your joint names, you may also provide items addressed to each of you individually if they show the same address for both of you.
For example - 4 items of correspondence in joint names to the same address and 2 items addressed to each partner at the address. In total 8 items would need to be submitted.
If you and your partner have no bills or correspondence in joint names, you will need to submit 12 items (6 each) of correspondence, evidencing that you reside together at the same address.
If you and your partner lived with relatives or friends for some or all of the period you are relying on, please provide a letter from the relative(s) and/or friend(s) confirming this.
If you did not live together for any part of the period you are relying on, tell us the reasons for this and whether you stayed in contact with each other during this time, and provide any relevant supporting evidence.
Please give an explanation on a separate sheet if you cannot provide 6 items; if the items are not addressed to both of you; or if they do not cover the period you are relying on.

Examples of acceptable items of correspondence
• letters or other documents from government departments or agencies, for example HM Revenue and Customs, Department for Work and Pensions, DVLA, TV Licensing
• letters or other documents from your GP, a hospital or other local health service about medical treatments, appointments, home visits or other medical matters
• bank statements/letters
• building society savings books/letters
• council tax bills or statements
• electricity and/or gas bills or statements
• water rates bills or statements
• mortgage statements/agreement
• tenancy agreement(s)
• telephone bills or statements

You can either attend a Sopra Steria appointment where your documents are scanned if you haven't already scanned them yourself, in which case they will check them or you can I think still apply by post.
The Sopra Steria appointment should give you a result within a few hours to a couple of days although it could be longer. There are an additional fees though.

I had to google to find this but presumably you are linked to it at some point during the online process.

Thanks so much!

I have saved a ridiculous amount of paperwork and turned paperless billing off of nearly every account, but it still quite difficult and time consuming to find everything! I almost wish I’d filed all of my paperwork by date rather than category, though that wouldn’t be very logical for normal filing purposes. 🙄

Yup. The best way is to file it by month, definitely.  :)

Getting ready to submit now that my husband has been paid this month. He is the UK citizen, and we are using his salaried employment. Can someone please check this letter from his employer to ensure it includes everything needed? He does not have a formal signed contract from when he started, and his responsibilities have changed a lot since then. Is a contract required, or will the letter below suffice?

Also, he sometimes receives payslips/is paid on different days but always within around a week of each other. Is this worth mentioning, or will it still be clear on bank statements because it will be for exactly the same amount?

Thank you.

This letter is to confirm that XX is currently employed as a XX at XX and has held the same position since 02/01/2017.

He is on a permanent contract with a salary of £25,000 per year and occasionally receives performance bonuses noted as ‘BONUS’ on his payslips. His salary has remained the same throughout the course of his employment.

All attached payslips are genuine, and I have signed each one to confirm this.

One more question about proof of salary - NatWest said they can only generate paper bank statements after the 8th of every month. They said if I would like official paper copies of transaction history sooner, they could post me a "Transaction History List".

The online agent said it could be used for legal purposes, and when pressed about it said, "These are valid documents which you can use for any legal purpose; like a mortgage application, visa application, etc."

He also said, "Please don't worry, THL would contain your statement address, branch address, sort code & account number, and all transactions within the specified field of dates. So it is legal."

Is this ok, or do I need to wait until after the 8th to order statements? I ordered transaction history all the way back to 1NOV2018 to ensure I've covered enough time. A bit overkill, but better to show 7 pay deposits than not enough, right??

If they are sent to you in the post by the bank, they are acceptable. Alternatively, you can go into a branch and have them print an up to date statement and have them stamp every page.

Thank you! Any thoughts on the employer letter above?

Sorry to post again - just wondering if the employer letter is ok. Am I missing anything? Is it ok that pay is not always deposited on the same day as the payslip date? They’re always within a few days of each other.

If possible, I would have the employer letter updated to specifically acknowledge that the payment date and payslip date are not always the same. I believe that’s something that the HO would be concerned about so I think it would be best for it to be clearly and explicitly addressed.

Maybe also include whether it is full time or part time as well.

That’s just my two cents so hopefully one of the experts will be along with more info.

Hi,

Just jumping on the back of this thread as I noticed you are gathering the letters/proof of residence stuff for the last 2 years only?

My wifes visa will run out March 2021, so do we only need letters from March this year and not the 9 months prior?

Also just a quick question on the pricing - I noticed on another thread the NHS surchage has increased to £1k, and with the cost of visa on GOV website as £1k are there any other costs as we look to start saving up? Do we need to do another priority or can we save some money and just post it ourselves?

Hello,

Thank you again for all the help so far. My appointment is tomorrow, and I have now uploaded all of the supporting documents. Can someone please check my list? The categories on the website are worded a bit weirdly, so I will list them the way they were uploaded.

*I am the US citizen, and my husband is the UK citizen. We have a son (born in a third country) who is a UK citizen. I entered in November 2016 as an unmarried partner, and we got married in July 2017. I changed my name in the UK immediately (so the name on correspondence changed), but I've only just renewed my passport last month with the name change. Do I need to include a letter detailing the marriage/name change, or is it obvious with the documents included below?

Proof of Identity/Travel History
My BRP (front and back)
Husband's passport (all pages scanned)

Proof of Application
Spouse declaration + declarations 1 and 2
My previous passport with entry clearance stamp (all pages scanned)
My new current passport with name change (all pages scanned)

Residence in the UK
Evidence of council tax costs
Land registry document showing we own the house
Mortgage statement showing monthly direct debits
June 2017 - Bank statement (me)/Credit card statement (husband)
September 2017 - Bank statement (joint)
October 2017 - Mobile agreement (me)/Credit card statement (husband)
December 2017 - Bank statement (joint)
March 2018 - Bank statement (joint)
June 2018 - Bank statement (joint)
October 2018 - Water bill (joint)
December 2018 - Bank statement (joint)
April 2019 - Water bill (joint)

Finances
Employer letter from husband's boss
P60 signed by boss
Payslips (Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar, April, May) signed by boss
Bank statements from 1 November 2019 - 24 May 2019 when May payslip was deposited

Life Events
Marriage certificate
Son's birth certificate

It is not listed anywhere on document requirements, but do I also have to include:
1) My son's UK passport
2) Any photos of us together
3) 2 UK size passport photos?

I know I will also need to bring the printed confirmation page for the appointment.
