Hello wonderful people. I have a random question that I am hoping someone knows someone who has had a similar situation.
Awhile back, I wrote asking how a speeding ticket could affect my ILR application. I didn't get it, thankfully - turns out my speedometer way overestimates and 33 for my car is more like 28 haha. I did get people advising me that one ticket/fine won't do anything just don't contest as it could become a conviction. Since then, I have read a case where an applicants settlement application WAS denied due to a £70 traffic violation. So, I am driving even more grandma-ish than ever.
Unfortunately, my husband has just had a string on bad luck. He has been very ill recently cause he now works with kids. Well, this has started to affect his concentration. He got tagged going 38 in a 30 three weeks ago. We were hoping for a speed awareness course. But last night, he was driving long distance from an event when he started getting worse...I think he has the flu this time and I am taking him to GP in a bit. He put on his cruise control to avoid speeding, but realized too late that he was speeding up going down a hill on an A road. He caught it at 77 he thinks, but there was a speed camera van at the bottom of the hill. We are now awaiting the ticket.
Long story short...does the sponsor's history affect their spouse's application? If he were to contest the ticket and loose, would that conviction threaten my application? He has never had any legal issues in his life, his first speed tickets in 10 years. I'm not stressing about it now, but I'm just curious if anyone has any feedback. Cheers.
