Having said that, do you think you would feel more connected to the UK if you didn't give yourself that out every four months? You could use that time to visit some of those European cities you're so proximate to. I mean, if you can afford to go to the US three times a year and that's what you want to do, then go for it. But if it were me, I think having that escape plan always going might stop me from fully embracing this life. (Ignore me, though... I came over on my fiancee visa in 2013 and haven't been home since.)

It totally make more sense to explore other European cities more often ( I do visit there occasionally,,, since its much more easier to go )
than going back to NY every so often but I just don't feel like I belong here, I hope I do one day?
I left all my friends behind in U.S and to start all over here, it really hasn't been easy.
People expect me to make 90% of efforts because I am a newcomer and it gets tiring .
But thanks for telling me the common sense I conveniently overlook...
