ILR Document Scanning & Upload
« on: July 15, 2019, 10:20:50 PM »
Hi all,

My biometrics appointment for ILR  is on 22 July so I am in the midst of scanning and uploading. A couple of questions:

1. I’ve not finished scanning, but what I have so far is all in colour. They are all under the size limit but I have individual files for separate documents because I am worried about grouping too many together and something being missed. Should I rescan in b/w or will they not be bothered?
2. My passport scans are one file per 2 pages because of the nature of how you have to scan passports. Can I just upload these individually or will they be weird about it? Again these are all in colour.
3. If anyone has done document checking, can you shed any light on what they actually do? I am probably going to buy it, if just for the peace of mind.

Thanks for all your help!

1. I’ve done all mine in colour. As long as I did it under the file size who cares whether it’s in colour or not, right?

2. I can’t imagine they’ll be iffy about it as long as you clearly label it something like ‘applicant passport pages 10-11’. How are you scanning? There is a way to compile scans into a single document.

3. I’d like to know the answer to this question myself as our appointment is on 20th July

Re: passport scans, I scanned these on our home scanner as it wouldn’t have been any easier to scan them at work- would still need to scan each page individually. I have seen that there is software to combine the pages, so may consider that. Everything else has been scanned in a feeder type scanner so they are multiple page files where they need to be.

I don't know what printer/scanner you have at work but we have a Xerox which allows you to scan and change parameters. There is a function at the end of the properties to 'build job' which means you can collate everything you are scanning until you tell it you're done.
