UK Spouse Visa Priority Service
« on: July 15, 2019, 11:09:28 PM »
Hi
I just sent in my UK Spouse Visa application.
I am US citizen and my husband is a British citizen. We got married last year in August and after the wedding moved to Manchester. We were naive and I applied while I was over there and obviously it was refused.
So I’m in the states it’s been 3 months since I’ve seen my husband. I just applied and did everything I was supposed to do. My application and supporting documents are currently being prepared for consideration by an entry clearance officer.

What I am most worried/ confused about is the priority service. It says you have to purchase priority service through the VFS Global website but when it came to pay my application fee on gov.uk it gave me two options to pay: Priority or Standard. So I paid priority service through gov.uk for my application and I bought the return courier service through VFS Global. Did I still need to purchase priority through VFS Global on top of the priority service fee I paid on Gov.uk?

Thank you in advance!

I had this same concern, and I accidentally paid the Priority service with the application, and the VFS global Priority service as well.. I quickly asked for a refund on the VFS Global site realizing my mistake.  (Which I am hoping I get refunded at some point).
Only the one on the new application site is required.

There have been some reported issues that even though people are paying priority on the application, that it is not being processed as such. I am hoping that ours comes through in the next couple of days. I am also hoping that since it has been a couple of weeks since the new application has become the standard that the priority is being processed as such.

 Good luck.

I also paid on the Access UK website instead of VFS as we were offered it there. We haven’t submitted our documents to New York yet but are planing on writing Priority all over the package and on the front page. The printed version of the application and the receipt also says Priority on it, so hoping they notice as the VFS receipt does not say priority

If you don't end up being refunded by VFS global, I would pursue the refund with UKVI. You need to get the money back from one of them and I actually think, UKVI is more likely.  :)

Thanks. It hasn't been the 30 working days yet (refund guidelines), so I'm going to wait until that hits to attempt to escalate.
