cream cheese dip
« on: June 11, 2006, 04:44:57 PM »
Does anyone know how to make it? I remember my aunt making it a few years ago and I want to make it tonight, but I can't remember exactly what's in it.... Anyone know?

I'm not sure what type of dip you are looking for. I've had several different dips made with cream cheese, taco dip, shrimp dip, vegetable dip, fruit dip, etc.. What is the dip you are wanting to make like and what do you use it with?

I've also heard of using cream cheese (I think) for some kind of spinach dip.  And I've used cream cheese to make a warm artichoke dip before.

and sometimes we used to just pour a jar of salsa over a block of cream cheese, and dip in!

Oh now you've got me craving bean dip, the kind that comes in the little can? Funny the things you forget about when you've been away for so long. I love that stuff. Easy enough to make as well. Have to get on it!!

You can mix fluff with cream cheese to make a great dip for fruit.. :-)

Ahh ok here is one that may work from the Cool Whip site

Sweet Fruit Dip

Recipe Rating:

Prep Time: 10 min
Total Time: 1 hr 10 min
Makes: 16 servings, 2 Tbsp. each

4 oz. (1/2 of 8-oz. pkg.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
1 cup thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

BEAT cream cheese and cranberry sauce with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Gently stir in whipped topping; cover.
REFRIGERATE at least 1 hour or until ready to serve.
SERVE with strawberries, red and green grapes, pineapple, kiwi or pears, cut into bite-sized pieces for dipping.

If you don't like cranberry, you can go to www.coolwhip.com and just search fruit dip and check out a few of the other options, or there are some that may be what you are looking for on allrecipes.com  ;)
