Teacher gifts?

Do you do this? I do and my David doesn't understand. I just give a jar with holly on it with m&m's inside. Not a huge expense. Since the teacher sees more of my kid than I do I think it's a nice thing to do.

I probably wouldnt have done it in the USA but it seems the thing to do here so each year the kids usually give their teacher a box of chocolates or something. Also at the end of the year they usually bring a bouquet of flowers. I think its great!

My son gave a gift to his teacher and the teacher's assistant, he really enjoyed picking the gifts. 

I always give either a plate of Christmas cookies or a loaf of cranberry bread or something homemade.

They get inundated with chocolate at this time of year so I like to give them something that at least they know I put a bit of effort in. Plus my son has a very sexy young male teacher and i'd be mortified to get him anything too personal.....much as i'd like to

I'm sure anything edible is appreciated. There was a letter in the paper yesterday from a teacher saying that she'd received 5 idential teddy bears with Thank You Teacher embroidered on them!

Im getting everyone to bed tonight at 8pm SHARP. Im ironing and packing lunches tonight and will have a little spring in my step while walking them to school in the morning!!

I have been waiting for this day since the holidays began. We are having early bedtime here - normally she is in her room for 7.30 but lately she has been playing in her room until 10. That stops tonight. Gotta get sleep for school. Her daddy, bless him, took her out for the day today so down come the Xmas decorations and I can have some space to clean up the house a bit. Tomorrow - a quiet house!! No more Nick Jr! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 


(If anyone had told me back in the days I was a modern, independent woman that I would be excited to be able to clean the house in peace.......unbelievable)

Our tree coming down tomorrow. Ill start getting the house back to somewhat of a normal state as soon as I drop the monsters off at school.

As for Nick Jr. I still have two at home so Nick Jr and Cbeebies (I HATE) will remain on. But at least the sound of Playstation 2 and Gameboy will cease for a few hours a day now!

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Cbeebies either, and lord help me when Out of the Box on Playhouse Disney comes on. Two more smarmy gits with false smiles I cannot imagine. Or I don't want to imagine. I do like Nick Jr, wish they would show Little Bill more than just at 9am. Boomerang used to show Snoopy cartoons every day for awhile, that was great. Yes, I have traveled far from my modern woman days. Sad when you watch Sex and the City and get all nostalgic.....

I know how you feel (and I was only at home for about 9 months!).  According to Dr. Phil (I know!  ), only 10% of people who stay out of work for a year or more end up staying back at work long-term.  I sooo want to be one of those other 90%!
