Hello,
I'm gathering correspondence for our FLR(M) application next month and have a question about British (specifically Royal Bank of Scotland) bank statements.
The official statements are sent continuously paginated, so when we opened our joint account, it began on page 001, and these page numbers continue through to today. However, unlike a credit card statement that says "Statement date: X" there is no such date on the joint account statements. The only dates are those that are contained in the statements themselves. Occasionally (not always – there seems to be no rhyme or reason), a date is printed on the bottom of the statement, in the field underneath "CARRIED FORWARD".
Does this make sense, or does anyone who banks with RBS know what I mean? I'm wondering if I can use these statements as evidence for our correspondence, when the way they are sent seems to me a bit confusing. If I submit an official page of bank statement evidence, for example, with our names and address at the top and the account activity dates all taking place in November of 2019, would this count as November correspondence?
If this seems dodgy or likely to be rejected by the Home Office, I can finagle a different amount of evidence to eliminate using the joint account statements. Here is the evidence we plan to submit, as of now (I know it's 7 periods rather than 6 – should I eliminate November 2017 and begin in March 2018? I'm sure I'm overthinking this):
November 2017 Joint bank account statement
March 2018 Council tax in both names
July 2018 HRMC tax letter to me and student loan statement to husband
November 2018 Electric bill in both names
March 2019 Council tax in both names
July 2019 Credit card statement to me, credit card statement to husband
November 2019 Joint bank account statement
Thanks very much for any information!
