DATE PLAN TO ARRIVE IN UK?? QUESTION
« on: November 23, 2019, 08:45:26 PM »
Hello,

The Visa application asks me to insert the date I plan to ARRIVE (in the UK). Considering I have not submitted the application YET, and that I intend to purchase the priority service that usually makes the process about 1 month, should I put a date exactly a month after the date I believe i will submit my application online on?

I really don't know which date to put. If i write January 1st 2020, and they cannot grant me that, is it still OK? What do you advise?

Thank you!

Put the earliest date that you feel you'll be ready to move. That way if the visa is processed earlier than expected, you'll not be stuck in the US waiting for the date you can travel.

When your visa has been processed, you will be given a 30-day window to enter the UK (a 30-day visa vignette in your passport). They will use the date you put on the application form to determine what date your 30 days will start.

- If the visa is processed before the date you put down, then it will normally be made valid starting 7 days before the date you entered.

- If the date passes and the visa has not been issued yet, then it will usually start about 7 days after the date the decision is made.

For example:

- if you put January 1st 2020, and your visa is issued on December 20th, your 30 days should be: December 25th 2019 to January 24th 2020

- but if you put January 1st 2020 and your visa is not issued until January 15th 2020, then your 30 days to enter the UK should be around: January 22nd - February 21st 2020.

Ksand24,

Thank you for this info!!! I hope to submit online application before december 1st, so I went ahead and wrote 1st of january 2020 (as my date to travel to UK), hoping that this benefits me in case somehow it amazingly is processed before that time!
