New BRP has mistake
« on: October 24, 2019, 02:09:11 PM »
Hiya!

So I got my new FLR(M) BRP on Friday (18th Oct) and they got my last name wrong. I did the online form to inform them and it says someone will get back to me in 5 working days. Has anyone experienced this and do they get back to you on time?  I’m going to Belgium in December and I’m a bit worried it won’t be fixed in time

Hi deechristin86,

That is so annoying- ugh

I recently applied for ILR priority and while I did get the acceptance email and the letter posted the day after my biometrics appointment, I have yet to receive my BRP.  I used the online form to report it missing on the 21st October and received an email reply on the 26th. So they did get back within their stated time frame BUT the email stated that my query is being passed to the caseworker who will contact me directly. God knows how long that will take? It also states:

We advise travel arrangements should not be made until after the BRP has been received.

For further information regarding this query you can also contact the caseworker directly, caseworker’s details can be found on the decision letter.

Please note we are unable to provide you with any further details of the caseworker.

Please do not reply to this email.

I wonder if the reply you will get will be the same, if they have to pass to your caseworker to edit or someone else producing BRPs can just fix the error and send you a new one?

Hope it gets fixed sooner than later!

Best,
Beans

Hi All,

I finally received my correct BRP. I've put the timeline below just in case anyone wants to know or goes through the same thing.

Oct 18th 2019 - I received my BRP. I notice the mistake and notified the Home Office on their online form the same day.  I received an automated email 10 minutes later stating someone will respond with 5 business days.

Oct 29th 2019 - I still hadn't heard anything so I called the general Home Office number.  I was advised that they were experiencing high volumes on enquires and it could take up to 20 working days.  She advised me to fill out the online form again. I filled it out and  I received an automated email stating that they are experiencing high volumes and someone will respond within 20 business days.

Nov 14th 2019 - Received an email from BRP Error asking me to describe the error and to send scans of my passport.  I sent it 10 minutes later.

Nov 25th 2019 - Received an email acknowledging the mistake and that I should receive BRP card with 7 business days.

Nov 27th 2019 - Receive BRP card in the mail. Signature required

So in total from the first initial online form it took 29 business days.  Form the second online form it took 22 business days.

Overall I was very disappointed with this service. I think the time waiting was unacceptable.  Especially because it was their mistake.  Hopefully no one else has to wait this long.

Glad to hear you finally received your BRP  deechristin86!!  It seems so ridiculous to have to wait so long for their mistake to be corrected.

I have yet to receive mine after being recalled to another biometrics appointment on 18 Nov, for some reason I assumed it would arrive within a few days after that..ha! Going to fill in the online form again to report it missing.
