Hi, all -
I'm delighted to report that I received my approval letter for citizenship as of this morning, following my August application. (Huzzah -- it just took me 10 years to do it!) I didn't realise that we could apply for the passport at the same time as citizenship. How I missed that, I dunno...
As I'll be travelling to the US for Christmas, I'll likely put off my ceremony until January. After the ceremony / receipt of certificate, I'll need to send in my BRP to be destroyed. May I assume that the passport application is completely separate to this, and will just require my certificate and US passport? It looks like a simple online form, £75.50, and submitting the supporting documents (US passport, certificate, and referee declaration)..?
On another note, there's a slight typo under "certificate details" of the approval letter. Whereas my "full name" is correctly written, my "name at birth" (directly underneath) has one incorrect letter within my middle name. (My name in the addressed field is correct, too.) I'll wait and see what the certificate says, but I guess if incorrect, I'd need to do a change form -- and further wait upon its return for the passport application? Argh.
