request for document check for ILR
« on: December 08, 2019, 02:46:00 PM »
Hi everyone.
I've made this separate from my other thread because it is specifically about the documents whereas that one is about clarifying aspects of the application.
Anyway, we will be waiting till after new years for the final bank statements but I am hoping to get some feedback on the documents I have gathered already.

MIR Category A:
1. 8 months of payslips and bank statements.
We are doing 8 instead of 6 because my husband was ill July/August, and his company used an old scheme to top up his company
sick pay with SSP. (thanks to everyone who helped advise me on this!) We have looked into this A LOT because it looks weird on the
payslips... but hmrc, national insurance, his company's payroll, and a friend in finance who asked her company's payroll - they have all
said its an old scheme but still completely legal.
2. Three letters from the company: 1 from payroll explaining the sick pay issue, 1 from payroll addressing difference between payslip
dates and the day it was actually in my husband's account, 1 from the CEO confirming employment details.
3. His latest employment contract (updated in March to reflect his pay rise).
4. We intend on putting his P60 even though it makes me nervous....he has made his current salary since Feb but before that, it fell
below MIR so the latest P60 is under 18600. I know it shouldn't matter since its not in the last six months...just irrational fears i have.
Anyway, I know the guidance doc doesn't list it as necessary for Cat A, but I've read on this forum that its on the checklist for the
application, so I don't want to risk refusal because I don't provide it. My husband never got sent a hard copy of it though....he can
access it online. Could we send this as a pdf downloaded or do we need the hard copy? Cause we can just ask payroll to send it.

Accommodation (husband owns our house):
1. Land registry (I've bought the £3 registry from the government website. Thinking about getting an official one though, as husband just wants it anyway)
2. Latest mortgage statement from July

I've been advised that no sponsor letter is required this time, but should we have a letter from my husband about this?

Co-habitation evidence (FLR granted July 18th 2017):
1. Sept 16th 2019: joint water statement
(also joint utility dated the 2nd)
2. April 16th 2019: joint water statement
(also joint utility dated the 24th, but they messed up our names - see below)
3. November 29th 2018: joint utility statement
(also joint water statement dated the 15th)
4. June 6th 2018: joint water statement
5. January 25th 2018: joint water statement
(also individual mail, a DVLA letter for husband dated the 18th and an HMRC letter for me simply dated January
                                        2018)
6. August 2017: Husband - utility statement dated the 24th. Me - HMRC dated the 30th.

I tried as hard as I could to keep water/utility to mid-month every month. But in June 2018, I went on holiday home for two weeks and had to order it early. As for the utility company... they have been NOTHING but a pain in our backsides. We had to argue with them for ages every time we would call to request a statement and then for months they kept sending it wrong - they kept screwing up our names. And then about six months ago, no matter when we would call, they always dated the statement at the beginning of the month. We do have joint bank statments we might be able to use, but they also come at the end of the month. So unfortunately my issue is June 2018. Its the only thing I have for that month. I also only have what is listed for August 2017 - although I swear I called for water. All the other months listed, I have at least 2 things so I have room to play. I will also be able to do one other set of six. I only missed 2 months this whole 2.5 years with absolutely nothing or only something in one name (although I SWEAR I have ordered water statements every month so I didn't have the same problem as I did in FLR). And of course, those two months throw off other possible configurations (to ensure I have 3 sources).  Anyway, my other option is:

1. December 2019: not yet ordered - joint water (date tbd) or joint utility (will end up being beginning of month)
2. July 2019: joint water dated the 10th or joint utility dated the 2nd.
3. February 2019: joint water dated the 23rd
4. September 2018: joint water dated the 24th or joint utility dated the 24th
5. April 2018: joint water dated the 17th
6. November 2017: Me - HMRC letter dated 23rd + Him - letter from bank dated November 2017 (no specific date)

I'd prefer to use the first set, but would love some feedback. Also...can we use letters from the bank? Including things like "change of terms" and whatnot? Thats what the above letter is. The FLR application listed bank letters as acceptable, so just curious if it still is.

Other required documents:
Marriage license
My passport (same since before moving here)
Husband's passport

I plan on also sending other supporting items, but these are the things I KNOW I need. Have I missed any required documents? In particular, a thread from probably a year ago mentioned having to evidence your bills (like council tax, mortgage, utilities, etc). I cannot find that thread anymore to check on it, but does anyone know anything about this? Cause if so, I will have to also scan in our joint account statements as our bills come out of that and my husband's paycheck goes into his personal account.

Cheers everyone! About a month to go for me till I hit "submit" and get an appointment...will be spending Christmas holidays scanning away with a glass of wine to keep me going lol.

Hi everyone.
I was hoping to bring this back to the top of the list as it didn't get any responses when I originally posted it :(

There is a little change though...the letter about the sick pay is now being written by the office manager instead of the external payroll because the accountant is a jerk who wrote it wrong and is refusing to change it. The office manager handles time sheets and leave requests so she offered to write it. We did this cause we got some advice that it would look weird to have the CEO address everything, even though he is technically my husband's line manager

Hopefully someone will have some insight? Cheers everyone! Happy New Year!
