Marriage Tax Allowance
« on: January 21, 2020, 12:32:52 PM »
Howdy folks!

Long time no see :)

So as the subject title says, I have been looking into the marriage tax allowance and in terms of eligibility we are as I earn a high salary than she does - I work full time, whilst she is part time.

Just a few things to lay out if anyone has been successful with a UK-US marriage:

1. Spouse has an NI number and working here for nearly a year.
2. Has all payslips, and tax id. Paid in cash by employer.

From speaking to some friends it isn't a long form or process to fill in, but just wondering if we are eligble due to our wedding being in the US and obviously her on a Marriage/Spouse visa? We apply for FLR(M) in June 2021.

Thanks guys!

Neither the wedding being in the US nor her being on a spouse visa prohibit you from applying for the marriage allowance.
