Chocolate ice cream...

By the way, it was my boy's birthday the other day, so I made him a batch of these brownies:

and then made a frosting out of peanut butter.   Here's a picture, sorry it's already mostly eaten.


For his present, he got a Raspberry Pi 4 that we are going to turn into a Minecraft server that he can run and invite his friends over for a birthday party / Minecraft server party. 

Any tips ont he Minecraft server?  I don't think we'll make it available to the internet.

No tips on the Minecraft server, but that looks like some tasty frosted brownie and a great gift! I have a friend in the US who has built a massive self monitoring network in their house with pi's.

Sorry, maybe I wasn't following along.  I didn't know the end result was going to be a boozy mikshake.  What about using vanilla ice cream and adding cocoa powder and sugar?  Or vanilla ice cream and some cooking chocolate melted over the hob?  I'd imagine that any combination of ice cream, melted chocolate and booze is going to be worth drinking.

There are solutions, as you've suggested.  It's just far easier to take some chocolate ice cream, a splash of milk, and some booze and make something quick, easy, and awesome.  He'll add Ovaltine to the mix if we have any to make it a malt.

  Or Malteasers.  Why don't you just go to KFC and get a Malteasers Crushem and add Vodka? 

the Hagen Dazs dutch chocolate is really nice, or get a cheap ice cream maker, I make my own, probably the easiest flavour to make. Really nice with toasted coconut mixed in.

Can you ask your local supermarkets to try and get you some?

There probably aren't, but just in case, are there any independent ice cream shops/stalls near you at all? Maybe they will sell you some in a tub to take home/can make you some if not.

We really do.  I didn't realize how good we had it when we lived just outside of Salisbury.

But we've been muddling through.  For now, I snap the chocolate ice cream up when I see it and force-fit it into our freezer.  Ultimately, we're planning to have an ice cream maker after our renovations are started completed and we finally have a proper kitchen again.
