ILR Documents, Uploading, and Appointments
« on: February 05, 2020, 03:31:36 PM »
Hello, I've just submitted my ILR Application today.  This is my 3rd application, not including the applications I did for my husband's US residency permit, so you wouldn't think I'd be so stressed!  When you upload documents it has built in "categories", but the document checklist only lists "Mandatory" and "Other".  My question is, are my payslips "Financial" or "Employment/Sponsorship"?  Are my mortgage statement and council tax considered "Financial" or "Residence in the UK"?
The document checklist has passport listed under "Mandatory", but then under "Other" it lists passport to prove English language and also all previous passports.  Do I upload my passport twice?
Lastly, as I know others have complained, it's really slimy that I pay for priority then there are miraculously NO free appointments anywhere...anywhere...within the time frames even allowed on the website.  That being said, I've paid £69 for an appointment, but there seemed to be no explanation or differentiation about the fees or what you're actually paying for.  Anyone have any insight into this?  I don't really know if I've paid for something extra or not.   ???

Thank you in advance for any feedback.

Most people seem to be putting payslips in employment and bank statements in financial. Mortgage and council tax (you'll need land registry too) are residence in UK.
No harm uploading the passport twice.

Which facility did you book with, if you don't mind me asking? I booked at the Reading Enhanced Service Point, and it was around £60/69 for the appointment. I don't think it came with any add-ons. I believe they're just taking my biometrics at the appointment and looking through my downloads to make sure I've got everything on the checklist. No extra scanning or anything like that. I will definitely report back once I do it on Tuesday if you are still waiting.

The Enhanced Appointments should include the document check and scanning:  https://www.ukvcas.co.uk/additional-services/detail

From that page:
Enhanced service points
We have enhanced service points across the UK. An appointment at one of our enhanced service points also includes the evidence scanning and evidence checking services. Prices start from £69.99 per person.

If you book a free appointment, you just get the biometrics and nothing else... but you can pay £44.99 for document checking and/or £49 for scanning.

Thanks again Ksand24.  The website is confusing because it lists what all these fancy services are, but then when it told me what was available it was only listed as Standard Appointment or Express.  So under standard appointment, there were some up to £230!  Standard isn't listed in the explanation of appointment type.  I'm not too concerned about it, I just feel like at this point I have to pay.  But wondering if I get anything extra.  Maybe I do get the scanning, although I'm just doing it now anyways.

Ah that makes sense. I definitely didn't click any of those options so I've got the basic biometrics and document checking.

So when I booked my ILR appointment, there were no free appointments available around London *anywhere*. I ended up booking a few weeks in the future in Croydon, and it was still over £100 for the appointment, and there were more expensive appointments at other times. I added on document scanning to that which was another £45, as ksand said. I think they're using some kind of dynamic pricing for appointments, to make them more expensive as demand goes up.
Sept '11: premium service same-day tier 4 visa granted in NYC
July '13: tier 4 visa - applied from boston
October '14: FLRM - applied priority in sheffield office
March '17: FLRM 2 - applied priority in sheffield office
Sept 2019: IRL, priority at Croydon, granted same day
October 2019: submitted naturalisation application
January 2020: citizenship approved!
March 2020: last citizenship ceremony before covid :-O
